Why Aren’t the Assets of the State-owned Corporation of Arzaq in Logar Province Being Utilized?

Logar Province, which shares a border with Kabul city, is considered the gateway to the capital for southeastern provinces. The properties of the State-owned Corporation of Arzaq in this province are located in three key areas: Pul-e-Alam city, north of Naiib Aminullah Khan Logari Hospital in Kunjak, and along the roadside near the market of Baraki Barak district.
Engineer Mohammad Naeem Habibi, the director of food affairs in Logar Province, states that although the State-owned Corporation of Arzaq owns properties in the region, they are currently not in a usable condition.
Habibi explains that in Kunjak, the center of Logar, there is a 600-square-meter plot, and in Baraki Barak district, a 650-square-meter plot, both of which previously had warehouses made of bricks and stones. However, these warehouses have now deteriorated and are no longer functional. Additionally, a two-story administrative building covering 840 square meters in the center of the province is also among the company’s assets.
Regarding this, Habibi mentioned that the rooms in this building are also not suitable for use. As a result, they proposed to the provincial administration to allocate space for their office. Consequently, two administrative rooms were provided for their operations in the old provincial building.
Speaking about the properties of the State-owned Corporation of Arzaq in Logar, Habibi adds that they are striving to use the land of the damaged warehouses and the administrative building for commercial investment through a partnership contract. This proposal has already been submitted to the company’s leadership.
Meanwhile, Engineer Mohammad Naeem Habibi also highlights the fundamental activities of the Emirate Food Company in Logar. He states that for the past five months; the company has been overseeing the timely provision of essential food supplies to 250 orphaned children in the labor and social affairs orphanage and 50 children in the kindergarten.
Additionally, Habibi mentions the second project of the State-owned Corporation of Arzaq, which involves supplying raw materials to Naiib Aminullah Khan Logari Provincial Hospital. This supply has been ongoing for the past three months.
It is worth noting that through its existing assets, the Emirate Food Company not only generates revenue but also creates employment opportunities for many citizens, contributing to the country’s economic growth.
